Environmental Health and Safety Specialist (EHS)
Description: This position will support all areas of International Ship Repair and Marine Services Environmental, Health and Safety Program. Performing workplace inspections and training to maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations and established procedures.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain compliance with federal and local EHS regulations, Conduct safety and environmental training, Maintain accurate administrative and training records, certify areas of marine vessels safe for workers and hot work/coordinate testing with the marine chemist, competent person certified preferred, Conduct audits and identify potential EHS problems, conduct new hire safety orientation, administration of drug tests, understand and provide first aid and be able to respond to emergencies if needed. This person should also be involved in the maintenance of the company safety program to include coaching and mentoring all levels of the organization in EHS practices. Applicant should be familiar with MS office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.
